For both artists, space is not something represented but something built.
Nebelstreif brings Spencer Lewis and Markus Lüpertz into a conversation about how an image appears and recedes. The gallery connects the title to mist, uncertain perception and Goethe. Rather than treating abstraction and figuration as opposites, the exhibition follows the unsettled boundary between them.
In general, I see a lot of faces or figures emerge from within the abstracted works.
